Knock Me Off Please.

November 24th, 2008 by kavanspruyt

Monkey see, monkey do
I spent my whole life surrounded by people like you
With all that expectation to weigh heavy on your heart
But no ideas to later tear it all apart
Won’t you please knock me off my feet, for a while?
Could you please knock me off my feet, for a while?

Cause there’s a galaxy of emptiness tonight
A whole wide galaxy of emptiness tonight
A galaxy of emptiness…

Thank You

November 18th, 2008 by kavanspruyt

The time is overdue
For people like me and you
You know the way to truth
Is love and unity to all God’s children
It should be a great event
And the whole day should be spent
In full remembrance
Of those who lived and died for the oneness of
all people
So let us all begin
We know that love can win
Let it out don’t hold it in
Sing it loud as you can

Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday

Mistakes and Reflections

November 11th, 2008 by kavanspruyt

A walk down memory lane:

To all who has experienced love, to all who has experienced pain. For without the pain, there would not have been love.

Is Pain something that makes us feel alive? What is Pain?

I know.

Pain is regret.

Something which can never be taken back, something which can’t be healed, something that stays. Weaved from a single mistake.

Even then i must have known
Felt the stretch of skin on bone
As then
I stared
For too long at my own
On reflection

Only when my hands went numb
Failing cells of each begun
To touch
And spin
Like lines around the sun
On reflection

So tonight i sit and wait
Hear the sounds of life grow late
And look
Through the ice
Of an ever older me
On reflection

Reality is Just a Dream

November 7th, 2008 by kavanspruyt

So long ago.
Was it in a dream?
I know, yes I know.
It seemed so very real,
seemed so real to me.
Took a walk down the street.
Through the heat
whispered trees.
I thought I could hear.

Somebody call out my name.

A Rap of Advice

November 4th, 2008 by kavanspruyt

Rap was rooted in the days of slavery. The lyrics carried much inspiration and meaning back then. The way of life, the people we met, the trials we faced were expressed by the complex vocabulary of the now defunct rapper.

Materialism, Sex, Projects, Drugs. That’s all there is now.

Rappers, Fashion magazines, Models; just makes you feel ugly, when you forget how beautiful you really are.

Don’t forget that.

Whether you’re here or you’re gone
Right or you’re wrong, you were meant
To be somebody from the second you’re born
Don’t criticize and knock one another
It ain’t really that hard to just be
A brother,so be good speak up
Don’t wait for it to happen, life is
Passing you by and homeboy
You’re cold knappin’
Don’t get hung up on what you’re not
Be proud of what you are and whatever
You got!
‘Cause it’s a cold cruel world causing
Kids to cry,if you’re hangin’
Your head,cold kiss it goodbye
Stand up for your heritage,rejoice
In the fact
Whether you’re red,white,tan
Yellow,brown or black

Virgin Post - Prologue

November 3rd, 2008 by kavanspruyt

Decided to blog (yes i am a hypocrite).

Made a virgin post last night and decided to compile lyrics to express my volcanic emotions. Something to replace what I have not done for the year.

Joy Division - at a Later Date

Only thing I’m thinking of is “Why are we all here?”
There must be more to do at night than drinking rotten beer (or whiskey soda)
The world’s a very shady place, and you can’t trust a soul
“Grin and bear it” seemed the thing, when it just gets a hold

~ end~

Faith, I know, is the answer. Its Faith.

Tired.

November 2nd, 2008 by kavanspruyt

So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn
There’s vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting,
That you make up for all that you lack
It don’t make no difference, escaping one last time
It’s easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees
